Initiative #2: Beginning in the Fall of 2025, offer a congregation-wide opportunity to read the Bible together using lay-led programs like The Path, The Bible Challenge, or The Story – we have several lay volunteers willing to lead the selected program.
ACTIONS

2025-2026: Based on a parish-wide survey, The Path was selected as the program of choice. The Path, 24 key stories from the Bible, can be used in small groups or by individuals. Online and In-Person small groups met on Mondays and Wednesdays. Individuals who are using The Path could take advantage of our small group meeting agendas by clicking on the buttons below. The questions about scripture were in the middle of the readings sometimes, but always at the end of each chapter. They present an opportunity to wrestle with the biblical text and see what it is saying to us. The questions are an important part of continuing our journey of faith beyond the pages of the Bible, so that we can follow Jesus more closely in our daily lives.

 

We used AI as a tool to research the questions posed in The Path. The results of the AI queries are in red text and are provided to reduce frustration for those folks not comfortable with using technology. We used the queries as a jumping off point for our discussions. You can also listen to the audible Questions with Answers by clicking on the buttons below.

2026-2027: We will again offer the opportunity to read the Bible together using The Path. We will offer three options:

 

  • Option 1: In-Person Small Group

    • Six people or fewer

    • Meet at the church on weekdays during the day (day/time decided by participants).

    • Commitment: 25 sessions (flexible for personal schedule conflicts).

  • Option 2: Online Small Group

    • Six people or fewer

    • Meet online using Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams (day/time decided by participants).

    • Commitment: 25 sessions (flexible for personal schedule conflicts).

  • Option 3: Individual

    • No limits on people

    • Read on your own with access to online resources on our RenewalWorks website

    • By participating, you will have access to the names and contact information of other parishioners who are also reading the book individually, offering the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts across the group.

    • Commitment: 25 sessions.
